Bullets

Hope everyone is having a great monday...

  • ...I am, because today is the first day I'm off school. This morning I caught up on about two weeks of tv, stayed in my pj's and enjoy some tea.

  • I start summer school tomorrow. Kinda bummed but it's only one class and I'll be done in the middle of june so really I can't complain.

  • Friday, I went out with some friends from high school. Sort of celebrating being DONE! These people are the best ever and it makes me excited to go out more this summer.

  • Saturday, was Danielle's bachloette party. It was tons of fun. I took pictures but by accident left it at D's parents house so I can't show you. Bum-er

  • 12 days till the wedding! Super pumped.

My races...so far

I saw on another blog, who happens to be a running junkie like me, her post about all her races, her times , pace and location.

Since I blog, document stuff, I thought this was a great idea. Why not have a hard copy all of my races?! It's fun to look back, isn't it?

I'm a runner, and I know it

The day before, getting excited!

Papa Hannon
got a pretty sweet medal too!

As soon as I crossed that finish line (that I swore was never coming) my thought was "I'm a "10k-er now." Good bye 5k,  those are easy-peesy-lemon-squeezey (as my grade 8 teacher would say.)

I am so thankful my dad ran the race with me. He told me to just listen to my music and he would pace me. And boy, he did a good job because we finished in 56:34.

9 whole minutes under my goal time.

Now what, you ask? Well I have another 10k on May 5th.

Letters on a Friday

Dear Running,

I am so excited for this 10k on sunday (first one, beginners joy?). Granted I haven't run a 10k in...ever but a 9.3k and a 8k yesterday is good enough. Hoping to finish in an 1:10 or less.

Dear Dad,

So happy you are running this race with me on sunday. Yes, the Boston Marathon finisher is doing a 10k.  Father-daughter bonding say what?

Dear Life is what you make it,

I'm really sorry, but you need to go. You've been my blog title for over 14 months but I am so bored with you. Not to mention it feels like every blog out there has "life" in it. So blog friends? Help a girl out. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment and let me know.

Dear nails,

It totally ticked me off last night when I went to do my nails and noticed I had no more nail glue left because the other bottle glue it self shut and no matter how hard I try, that thing it not coming un-done. Day three of bare nails is killing me.

Dear colour jeans,

Why did I wait so long to get you? Totally love my coral colour and could easily wear them every day. must get another pair a.s.a.p

Boston Re-cap.

A little less than four years a go my dad became a marathon runner. Today, I watched him cross the finish line at one of the world's most prestigious marathons, the Boston marathon in 4:22. Today, I became the worlds proudest daughter.

That was my facebook status on monday.

Going to Boston was amazing. Such a beautiful city, full of the kindest and helpful people ever! Seeing my dad accomplish his goal of running the Boston marathon is something I hope to never forget.

The pride my family has for my dad is beyond words. As you can tell from my brother's status on monday.

Dad, 3 years and 4 months ago you said you wanted to run a marathon before you turned 50. Today you get to take part in one of the most prestigious races in the world, the Boston marathon. Congrats and best
of luck!

It was fun being tourists for the weekend. We went to Fenway park on sunday,  took our pictures eating breakfast because we! are! in! boston!

The weather was so hot. So hot. I got the worst sunburn ever. Never had one this bad.

My dad ran well. He qualified for Boston with a 3:32 marathon last fall and finished the 26.2 miles in 4:22. No one who ran, was running to run a PB (personal best.)

The signs I made: Should have said "marriage" but whatever.

Mom and Dad

Mom and I camped out at mile 16, outside a starbucks.

Love these pictures of my dad and I.

Imagine walking 26.2 miles while its 88 out in all that gear.

FINALLY finding my dad after the race. And being silly on saturday.

While waiting for our luggage, all the runners took pictures of the welcome sign, at Fenway.

Go canada!
Can you find me?
We had a great time in Boston. Such a beautiful city, where I totally could see myself living.

The marathon was anything but I've experienced. The whole city came out and supported the runners and my dad said they were what helped him. They gave out their own water, hooked up their own hose to sprinkle down the over-heated runners and cut up oranges for them. We need that here in Toronto.

I had so much fun yelling "go canada" when I saw a canadian runner go by, and telling people to keep it up, only 10 more miles from here.

Can't wait to go back next year. Because Boston? You haven't seen the last of the Hannon's!

Boston Weather!

I'll be boarding plane in a few hours and I need to tell you how happy I am that the weather is going to be so nice this weekend.

I can feel the sun on my face now. I haven't felt 29' weather in so long.

My dad texted me on thursday saying to pack shorts. Not to sure about that since I have a feeling my ones from last year are to big.
~

Also, my friends Laura from Between the Lines is giving away an awesome give-a-way. A $10 gift card to target! My favourite store ever, that I get to go into once or twice a year. So ya, this card is something I need! So go enter, or don't because I want to win!

Where I talk about my love for Friday's

First off-thank you for your kind words on my last post about getting to my goal weight. It's hard to put into words how happy I am right now. So thanks.
~

I can't believe in 4 short hours I will be going into my last class for first year. This year has flown by, which is great but scares me a little bit, before you know it I'll be walking across that stage.
~

Friday's are awesome around here. I seriously love Friday's.

All week I have all-day classes and placement. Some days I go straight to placement and right to work not getting home until 9:45pm. It's a long day.

But knowing Friday is coming up, keeps me going.

Friday's I don't have class until 2pm. It's soooo nice to sleep in! and slowly get ready. I can actually sit down and read the newspaper, eat my breakfast and read my morning devotionals.

It's heaven.

Monday's are also like this. No rushing around, time for myself.

I will make sure to plan my friday classes in the late afternoon next year.
~

Gotten from here

In other news, I'm off to Boston this weekend as my dad is running in the marathon. So excited to have a target 1.2miles away from our hotel and a kohl's 6 miles away! Oh and to see my dad run.

If you're watching the online stream on monday, look for a red hair man with CANADA written on his back. That's my daddy :)

I did it! I got to my goal weight!!

I should have made this wayyy before. The differences on these pictures are incredible to me. Holy cow.

I have been waiting for this day- the day when I can finally say I reached my goal weight plus two more pounds.

Back in October, I re-signed up for weight watchers in order to make sure I was not the fat sister at my brothers wedding. You can read about my journey here.

My first goal was just to lose weight -anything.

Then I lost my 5% then my 10% and after that I started thinking about a number I wanted to see on the scale. My goal weight. And on saturday- after I brushed the sleep out of my eyes and jumped on the scale I stepped off with the biggest smile because I finally got to my goal weight. I didn't just hit it but lost two pounds of top of that. So technically- I've reached my goal weight and lost 25 pounds.

Even though I reached goal- I want to lose 3-4 more just for some comfort, you know, just when life gets in the way.

I am so happy right now. Hard work pays off guys.

THANK YOU WEIGHT WATCHERS!

The time I remembered I'm running a 10k in two weeks

After two, almost three weeks I finally went for a run tonight.

I hate the fact that I went that long without lacing up and pounding some pavement but sometimes, just sometimes, especially around exam time, I would rather spend an hour studying than running.

That was two weeks a go then last week I got sick. Flu sick. Add in the fever of 102 all day and the chills  between 7-9pm every night like clockwork.

Needless to say, my bed and the couch were my best friend last week.

And all week the one thing on my mind was the fact that on April 22, two weeks this sunday is my first 10k and the farthest I've run is 9.3k...which I ran back in early February.

So the only logical thing to do was lace up. I only ran 30 minutes- 4.66k tonight but hey, it's better than nothing.

I'm happy that 90% of my assignments have been handed in and I only have 4 hours of classes left for the term because I plan to be out there, running every second day. I need to. My thighs need this.

I miss blasting my Drake and repeating left...right...repeat in my head.
