Concerts, 1 year.

Noticing a trend over this summer, people posting less which is great because I know they're spending it day-drinking on patios or with family but kind of sad at the same time.

I haven't blogged in a while for many reasons, I get sad when I blog and no one comments. It hurts when I see someone blog a picture of a beer can and boom, they get 30 comments.

I'm working a ton, 9-5 like a normal person and spending my evenings relaxing and most days running with the Running Room.

But while I took a break, Alex and I his favourite band, Sublime play while it poured rain. Then on Thursday we went to the CN tower restaurant for dinner to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Seeing my city from that view makes me love it so much more.

So excited to see what year 2 brings :)

Monday Thoughts

  • It's the middle of May and it's feels like the middle of October in Toronto. Yesterday it was a high of 9, with flurries in some areas of Ontario and Environment Canada issued a frost warning. Mother nature is cruel. Cruel I tell you.

  • Yesterday was my brother Ryan and Danielle (my Sister in Law's) 1st wedding anniversary. That year went very fast!

  • Turns out Alex and I have the same dating anniversary as Ryan and D. How crazy is that?!

  • I joined weight watchers again last night. My goal is to lose 14-17 pounds. So far it is going well. I just had lunch and completely starving. The old me would say "go eat more" but I know I've had enough. I'll just continue to eat my baby carrots.

30 years

Yesterday was a very special day at the Hannon household because my lovely parents celebrated their 30th anniversary! August 7th, 1982.

I remember last year writing them a letter on this ole blog about how much it means to me that they have become such a team and stayed together in a world where couples are splitting left and right.

I was talking via facebook to a friend of mine whos parents were celebrating 23 years on the 6th and she made an awesome point, having parents who are still together really makes you more conscious of what you want your relationships to be like. It really does.

Can't wait for the next 30! Congrats mom and dad!

Happy 1st Birthday...

To my little blog!

I can't believe it's been one whole year since I started this blog!

I remember sitting in my dining room on saturday afternoon, stalking my regular blogs (by googling their blog names) and all of a sudden I found myself about to hit the "create a blog" button on bloggers homepage. No idea what I was getting myself into.

I didn't know how much I was going to fall in love with blogging.

I've been reading many of my posts from the very beginning and I've seen so many changes in myself since that day in late January. My writing has changed. My body has changed. My relationships have changed.

All for the better.

And? It's because of the blogs I read. The blogs that inspire me to get my journal and bible out, inspire to go for a run, inspire me to be a better person. It's amazing how just by reading a blog post how inspired I feel after. You girls are awesome! Y'all make me a better person. A better child of God.

I love blogging. The friends I have made over the first year is just amazing. Amazing because even though we've never met, I feel like we are close friends. I know we if we lived closer we would be "real life friends!" I cry with you, laugh with you and celebrate when babies are born.

I've come to realize that having followers doesn't define me as a blogger or person. As much as I love my 36 followers and 2700+ pageviews, I have learned to blog for myself! Blog to remember the memories. Blog to vent.

Blogging has become such a big part of my life. I constantly am thinking of blog ideas and how to word them. Most in the shower or at work.

So? Thank you. Thank you to my 36 followers who have clicked that "follow me" button. Thank you to those bloggers who comment on here on a regular basis. You know who you are! Thank you for the friendships.

I can't wait to see what my second year of blogging will bring!
