Photobucket

Dear yogurt covered raisins, thank you for being so darn delicious. Dear mother nature, winter was cold and horrible and you'd think june would be warm and sunny. Not the case, please get warmer. Dear summer school, honestly I am done with you both. I just want my summer vacation. Dear 9 hours of sleep last night, you gave me so much more than what the normal 6 has been doing. Thank you! Dear target, not impressed with the lack of selective. All I want is to buy a curling wand!

Hope everyone has a great week, I'm off to see the Toronto Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers baseball game tonight! Go Jays!

Letters on a Friday

Dear Running,

I am so excited for this 10k on sunday (first one, beginners joy?). Granted I haven't run a 10k in...ever but a 9.3k and a 8k yesterday is good enough. Hoping to finish in an 1:10 or less.

Dear Dad,

So happy you are running this race with me on sunday. Yes, the Boston Marathon finisher is doing a 10k.  Father-daughter bonding say what?

Dear Life is what you make it,

I'm really sorry, but you need to go. You've been my blog title for over 14 months but I am so bored with you. Not to mention it feels like every blog out there has "life" in it. So blog friends? Help a girl out. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment and let me know.

Dear nails,

It totally ticked me off last night when I went to do my nails and noticed I had no more nail glue left because the other bottle glue it self shut and no matter how hard I try, that thing it not coming un-done. Day three of bare nails is killing me.

Dear colour jeans,

Why did I wait so long to get you? Totally love my coral colour and could easily wear them every day. must get another pair a.s.a.p

Things I can't say out loud.

I'm human okay? And with being a human, I hear things that make me say WTF? That make me cringe and these things make awesome venting posts. Enjoy.

Dear friend,
Please stop starting emails with "generous hellos" and ending with "calmness and understanding".

Sincerely, who does that?!
~

Dear person(s),
Don't ask for my mailing address because you really want to send me a card and never send it!

Sincerely, thanks for getting my hopes up.
~

Dear family member,
I understand you hate your job but please stop coming home and taking it out on me.

Sincerely, find another job.
~

Dear person,
When you say "so glad we have a SUV now, its only Christmas eve and the car is full!" it makes you sound so spoiled.-actual convo.

Sincerely, no one cares
~

Dear cousin,
You are 5'6 and 110 pounds with wet hair. And when you make comments such as "your mom has skinny legs, I have fat ones" or the classic "I'm fat" it makes me feel like shit crap. Please stop looking for attention.

Sincerely, 5'3 and *not telling my weight...right now*
~

Dear close friend/classmate,
It bugs the crap out of me when you sit in class and complain how tired you are, or that you didn't have time to make a lunch today. You have placement in May, meaning you have 2 days off this semester. Please stop saying all those things!

Sincerely,
You try waking up at 6am everyday for placement and going to school 3x a week for all day classes.

This is why I love blogging, its nice to get some stuff off my chest.
Yes, I know some of these were from Christmas but I just remembered them.

ticked, rattled and taken-advantage of...

...that is how I feel right now.
*

Dear family member,
Just because I'm related to you doesn't mean that you can go months without paying for me looking after your children. Remember this time a year a go when you asked If I could watch your kids and that you would pay me? Remember we agreed on $5 a visit? Remember when I had to ask you in november for my money because you didn't ask the total? Remember how I said it was awkward for me to ask you each month for money, that we both said it would work if you asked me at the end of each month the total? That way I could avoid the awkwardness of asking you.

You didn't do that.

So yes, I went from February-june with no pay. I let it go, thinking it was me doing a good deed.

But then you asked a month a go how much you owned me. I told you the amount.

Now that I've spent a a boat load of money on textbooks I would like the money. I wanted the money so I gathered up my courage and texted you asking really nicely if I could get the money. I didn't say "by tomorrow", just asap.

What ticks me off is that over 4 days later, a) you never responded and b) no money in my hands.

I feel taken-advantage of because for years I would drop everything for you and your hubby and babysit for you both. I would babysit late at night and call my dad to drive me home. *which baby-sitting doesn't work that way, if its late at night, an adult drives the sitter home*

I've put up with a lot but yet I never said anything. I feel taken-advantage because I've done a huge favour for you and your hubby and yet I don't get payed? How would you feel if you worked and had to chase your boss down for money? That's what I thought.

*I know I sound very very very selfish, I'm sorry if I come across that way, but I'm very hurt by this situation and its not like I can tell this person how I really feel.

Letter to Oprah

Dear Oprah,

That's it, your show is now off the air after 25 wonderful years. Out of those 25 years, I've watched 19. My mom would watch Days of Our Life and then your show at 4pm. No matter what the topic I would always watch because the topics were awesome, very educational and helpful. You actually helped formed my addiction of Dr. Phil.

I remember the day that I heard what I thought was a rumour of you going off the air May 2011. Talk about disbelief. But now? It's here. Come four o'clock, we won't see a new episode of Oprah. The re-runs will help but there is nothing like sitting down after a long day at work and watching a confident, beautiful women do her thang. If someone asked me what was my favourite episode I honestly have no clue which one I would pick. Maybe the one time you had all teachers in your audience for your favourite things. I love when people (you) talk about how great and hard working teachers are, its times like this where I know being a teacher is my calling. No body will ever be as influential as you were (as still are.) No body will make such an impact on the world like you are. No body will love as you have.

The one thing I will miss the most of your show is how the next day, everyone talks about what was done during the hour, the stars that were your guests and did Tom Cruise really jump on the couch?!

It has been a wonderful 25 years. A wonderful 25 years of inviting you into my home every weekday at 4pm.

As Jada Pinkett Smith said "Oprah, you have practically raised us." That could can't be any truer.

Thank you for everything Oprah. Thanks.

Love Always,
Sarah.
