Pictures from the weekend

Being sick sucks! I've been fairly lucky this winter and haven't caught any of the sickies that have been flying around. Not even a little cold. But on saturday after coming home from picking out some paint choices for my room, ::bam:: I caught something fast.

I'm thinking my brother brought it as he came in for the afternoon...what a nice surprise that was.

I spent mostly all saturday reading, finally finished  the hunger games...really good btw and watched the movie courageous. Also, really good.

Sunday I felt fine enough to attend church and again this sickness came on fast... again. It was like right after the second hymn that I felt like I needed a bucket, ya know, to do some business in there. Thank goodness I made it thru church.

And you guessed it, sunday was spent on pinterest, sleeping and watching the amazing race. Not doing a bit of homework and going for a run. Stupid sickies.

A trip to Ikea, a 5K and a happy moment

You could say this is a weekend update but it is wednesday and closer to the next weekend than the one that just passed so we won't call it that.

Saturday was a good day all around- I finally got to my 10% goal. Losing 10% of my weight was my next goal I have been working on and I'm so happy I earned it this week. Only a few more pounds till my goal.

After Ladies Class, my parents and I went to Ikea to grab me a new dresser that I've had my eye on for a while.

Sunday I ran another 5k, can't believe I've run 4 in 3 years. It was a super cold day, and the course was horrible. Nothing was shovelled which made it so hard to push off from the ground. Even with those conditions I'm happy to say I ran 28:28! Ya, a little over my goal of under 27:59 but I'll take it.

My dad came with me and on our way home I said I'll run a new personal best in 2 weeks when I run another 5k.

Grateful Monday's-edition 2.

Pinned Image
Where did this week go?! Seriously though? It flew by.

I loved writing in my book of blessings this week. So many things to write down and share!

Monday Jan 9th: First day back at school. Loved seeing old friends, still meeting new ones and a fresh start.
Tuesday Jan 10th: Random cheques from the government
Wednesday Jan 11th: A textbook costing only $56!
Thursday Jan 12th: knowing tomorrow is friday!
Friday Jan 13th: Safe travels/arrivals to the 20's weekend re-treat
Saturday Jan 14th: Amazing lessons from the speaker this weekend.*
Sunday Jan 15th: a weekend away from twitter/facebook.*

hppy

I had an amazing weekend at Waterloo's annual 20's weekend re-treat. Every once a while I need those weekends of endless fun, being in the word and strenghing my faith. The speaker was actually my friends BIL and he did an amazing job. The weekend theme was from the book of Luke, might be my favourite book. It was so nice to see old friends, spending time with them all. The most exciting part? Being asked to come back to counsel at camp again this July. Of course I said YES!!!

Since I was super super busy this weekend, I had hardly no time, except for late at night or right after my shower, to check/update twitter and facebook. I was so busy that I only tweeted once! I didn't know how much I needed it the weekend away from the web. It's so easy to tap on the twitter app and away I go, updating and tweeting.

Soaking up Greg's lessons and not being so attached to twitter are amazing blessings. I highly reccommend taking a day away from the facebook "liking" and just be present in your own life. Try it.

Happy Monday, Friends.

Weekend Update

Yes yes I know, you're are thinking 'buts its thursday."
Your correct, it is, but excuse me I've been a bit busy.

This weekend was my first weekend EVER being off school. I always do my homwork saturday afternoons and sunday afternoons. And when those day/times came around, I felt so strange not having homework to get done! To say the least, I love love loved it :) I could get used to it!

Since I'm off school this semester I am picking up as many shifts at the pools as possible. (Fyi: I work at a few pools as a lifegaurd and swimming teacher) I worked all day monday (that's 9am-930PM!!!!) Yes you read that right. Then tuesday 5-945 and tonight same time.
(Below: this is my new fav candle. I love how it lightens up the hallway) Sunday was a great day. As usual I woke up and got ready for Church. Went through the same motions but for some reason church was extra extra good this sunday. I felt more alert and focused (maybe thats because I had two 4 years sitting with me, so I had to be an example) but anyways for the first time in a few weeks I walked out of church on my spiritual "high."

Gosh I love those days.

Then Sunday afternoon as we all know, it was the superbowl. The packers were playing (AND WON!!!!) so i watched with my dad. I never watch football, I'm more of the person who wants to know the final score. But since the packers are my bros and dads favourite team, I knew I had to watch.

My dad was on the edge of his seat the.entire.game. Let's just say that If the packers lost, my house wouldn't be a very fun place to be in!
I enjoyed watching the game, I totally didn't know what the heck was going on but my dear dad explained to me.
Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! and just think in a day another weekend will be happening!
xoxo Sarah
