Saturday Morning Scene

I'm linking up with Katie over at Loves of Life for Saturday Morning Scene today.

My saturday morning was spent at weight watchers. I lost .8 this week for a grand finale of 6.8. I still have a ways to go but slowly its coming off. I want to lose 10 by may 15. That's when I'm off to see family in alberta and would love to tell them that.

As soon as I got home, Igyy-pants was loving having the door open so he could "sun tan." He's a cat after my own heart!

Isn't he so cute? my lil baby boy.
Now go link up with the lovely Katie! Go!

Royal Wedding was...fabulous!

As we all know (unless you live under a rock) today was Wills and Kate wedding day.... errr.... I mean The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  I've been waiting for today for years all week. I went to bed around 11:30pm (wanted to be in bed by 10pm) so I could wake up at 4:30am. And I did.

Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge kiss on the balcony in Buckingham Palace, after the wedding service, on April 29, 2011, in London.

It was a fabulous wedding. I loved the looks, laughs, smiles and special moments that William and Kate shared between each other. I don't regret waking up that early to watch this once and a lifetime thing.

Anybody else think Kate's sister Pippa *love that name* and Prince Harry should get together?! Just me? Ok.

The entire time I tweet my thoughts about everything, right down to the lady wearing all black, like who does that?! To a wedding no less. And how I don't know how I felt about Pippa wearing white. The bride should be the only one wearing white. Just my opinion

I'm thankful that William and Kate tied the knot. And I was more than happy to see it.
happy friday!

wedding dreaming..err planning.

Thank you for all your comments on SWW. All of them included the e-invites and everyone agreed they were TACKY! Good thing my sis in loves family shot down the idea. Formal invitations it will be!

Since I'll be a bridemaids in may 2012 for my brothers wedding, all I think about is the dress! Here are my ideas of what I would love to wear.
Love the yellow! so bright and cheery!
This is prob my fav. Love the one shoulder/colour!

love this but in another colour. Black to a wedding? No.

here is the one in black but in a different colour.

I want something fun but also that I can wear for another wedding. I'm looking forward to shopping with the girls soon :)

Since I was on the website I of course had to look at wedding dresses.
love everything about this!

Simple but yet I love it

I love Vera Wang! I will so save all my money to buy one when its my turn to get married. They are so classic, sweet, all eyes on me kind of dress.
love the princess fit of it! and the pink bow, melt my heart!

So what..wednesday

I'm linking up with Shannon from Life after I "Dew" for so what wednesday.
Here's what I'm saying so what to this week.

  • so what if I hated my brother's idea about e-invites for his upcoming wedding, may 2012? Yes, I know it's cheaper but very tacky!
  • so what If I'm getting really annoyed with the patrons always complaining about the water temperature. If its cold, we turn up the temp, then someone says its to warm.  Seriously is anyone happy around here?!
  • So what if all of a sudden I want kids and marriage? so sue me.
  • so what if I want to move to the states just for target?
  • So what if I want to work at camp this summer rather than do "real" work.
  • So what If I want to look like Carrie Underwood? Skinny to the mini!
  • So what if my new size 8 jeans are to big. So bittersweet.
  • So what If I gave up on the book I'm reading only after 48 pages. I have no clue whats going on!

What are you saying So What to this week?
happy wednesday!

While I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

I really don't want to get into it here right this moment but I've been having huge pity parties lately. I'm finding this song really helpful while I'm waiting. As humans we naturally want things to go our way and we for sure don't want to wait. I know that those "things" I'm talking about will happen but it's the waiting that is killing me.

happy tuesday

Monday Monday Monday

You're about to read some random stuff. You've been warned!

I am so excited for the Royal Wedding this Friday. I was watching the specials that TLC was playing yesterday evening and now am pumped up. I plan to come home from work thursday, sleep until 2:58am, watch the wedding till 11 am and sleep till 3:50 when I have to go to work friday evening. My parents think I'm crazy but hey, it's a once and a lifetime thing. Wills and Kate are actually my first royal wedding (as I'm sure it is for most people) so that makes it more exciting :)

As you might know my brother is getting married next may (90% sure the big day is may 26.) I'm really excited to be a bridesmaid! Last week I went into Davids Bridals to get catologs for Danielle. While I was there I found my dream wedding dress, I was thisclose to trying on the dress! I'll try to find a picture and post it here, ya know for my upcoming wedding...not.
I'm seriously comtemplating cutting my hair short. I like this (left), its from a another blogger. One thing I don't want is the typical short "mom" cut. This isn't a mom cut, is it? Right, right?! (ignore the writing...I couldn't get it cut off)

I've started running again. Last night I ran 4km in 25 minutes. Feels good, hopefully I will get out today. Actually no, I will get out today.

3 weeks yesterday I will be in Alberta! I'm going away for two weeks to visit my dad's sister and her family. I'm really looking forward to it!

Yesterday was a sad day at church. A long time member (when I say long time I mean 30+ years, brought his kids up at my church ect) died last night. About a year a go Greg found out his cancer was back. He did chemo/radiation and fought it. Then in the fall it came back, he knew it would be harder to beat and tried his hardest. A month a go Greg and his wife went to the Philippines for mission work and that's where he died. It's always a shock when I open the weekly bullentins and find out a faithful member has passed. Please keep them in your prayers.      Greg-if heaven has wi-fi (which I hope it does) and you're reading this. We miss you. I'll always remember you as being the "hand shaker," you were always shaking peoples hands! It made me feel special when you shook my hand. You've made it Greg: You lived the godly life and I know you're enjoying spending time with Jesus. Thank you for everything you did for our church.

happy monday friends!

Yesterday was a good great day.
Every year I look forward to Good Friday.
Every year on GF all the Churches of Christ meet in a HUGE high school in Mississauga, to worship, listen and be social!

It's an all day affair. Starting at 9 and ending at 3. This year we had the opportunity to hear from three speakers. There was Earl Lavender who is the Director of Missions at Lipscomb University in Nashville. He brought along Jackie Halstead who is the an Associate Professor there too. The last speaker was Jonathon Starker who is a missionary from Japan and is a CofC member too. The lessons this year were awesome, powerful and most important encouraging. I missed the ladies lesson that Jackie lead because the BFF Karen and I were teaching too. I head that is was really enjoyable.

While the lessons are going on for the adults there are classes for children too (it would be horrible having 100+ kids crying, talking during the adult lessons). From 9m-18 years old. The ages are split up so that all young people have lessons that reflect what is going on in their life. This year Karen and I taught the 3 and 4 year olds. We had three really cute kids for an hour. It went great! It helped that we gave out Jelly Beans at the end and allowed them to snack on them before class started.

As soon as I got home, the parents were waiting so that we could go to the aunts for Easter dinner. We usually have dinner on Sunday but this year she was busy then. Friday was the only day. I was excited because I could have weighed in at ww saturday (today) and have dinner Sunday which left me all week to burn off the calories. I had less than 12 hours to burn off dinner this time. Needless to say I didn't burn them off and gained 2 pounds. Don't worry I'll lose them this week!

Dinner was great as always. The brother and fiance couldn't come (long story) so that got me bummed out but the cousins came which was fun. I didn't get any pictures from yesterday but I can say it was a good day!
I hope everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends!

Now I'm resting up!
happy saturday!

A little photoshoot!

Yesterday I had to get some head shots and body shots done for an hopefully upcoming opportunity.
I know I have talked about this "opportunity" before on here but I'm so afraid of saying something and jinxing it. When the time is right I will let you know!
Here we go...

My mom joined in on the fun too :)

My aunt was so nice to come over and do my make up for me. She is an incredible make up artist, she's my go to person when I have to look extra nice!'

happy thursday!

Yesterday at work I got a nice surprise from a co worker. He's not really a co worker, you'll find out how he fits in in a second.

I've been working at *this* pool for about 2.5 years. That's 2.5 years twice a week. The entire time I've worked there Peter has worked there too. Peter works for the Toronto District School Board as a caretaker for the school my pool is joined to. Part of his job is to come to the pool and make sure the chlorine levels are up to par, water isn't to cold/warm and other housekeeping items every few hours. Peter loves his job and goes above and beyond what is expected from him. He is really really good friends with the other lifeguard that I work with. He sometimes comes and hangs out with us when he's done cleaning the classrooms and such. If I haven't said it before, he is the NICEST man ever!

November of 2010 I found out some sad news. I asked Hillary (names have been changed) why I hadn't seen Peter in a while, (thinking he was on vacation and forgot to tell me.) I knew something was wrong when Hillary pulled me the guard office and said "Sarah, Peter found out last week he has colon cancer."  I've never cried sobbed at work but that night I did. After I calmed down (quickly because the Lane swimmers were looking at me strange) she told me that the doctors found out "it" early. Thank goodness! Two weeks later Peter went in to remove the cancer from his colon. This was early December and we all thought he would be back to work by late January. Surgery was fine and he healed very nicely. In mid January Peter met with the Surgeon and asked if he could come back to work with modified duties. She said to wait a few weeks longer. Everyone was sad but his health comes first. Every time Peter went for an appointment the doctors told him to wait a few more weeks. A few weeks ago the second kicker happened...

His doctors found spots on his liver. Little ones so small that they needed good machines to see "them." They don't think its cancer (thank goodness) but to be sure Peter needs more surgery. Hillary told me this and again I cried. Hasn't he and his family been through enough? Last night I was in the bathroom when I heard this knock on the office door. Usually it's Rob the other caretaker. Or my boss (lucky me) I opened the door and saw an arm on the deck, I peered around the corner and saw.. PETER! I throw my arms around him and gave him a huge hug! Remember I hadn't seen Peter since the end of  November! It was awesome to see him. And yes you better believe I grilled him for not coming to visit on a Tuesday/Thursday when I work. He usually came when I wasn't working and Hillary would tell me that he came in. We don't know when Peter is coming back. I told him if he wasn't back for September 2011 that I would personally drive to his house and drag him to the pool! He laughed but I'm serious. For all those prayer's out there, could you send a prayer Peter's way? Thanks.

It's very bittersweet, we all want Peter back to the pool but we also know his health comes first.

*colonoscopy's save lives. Peter just turned 55 and last November went in for his first one. A few years late. If Peter waited a few more weeks who knows where he would be right now. Yes, they are uncomfortable to hear about but they do save lives. *

happy Wednesday.

Monday Ramblings

A lot has happened over the past few days. So much that they can't all a separate post each.
Where to start off? Oh I know.

Saturday I weigh in at weight watchers and lost 2 whole pounds! Total loss is...7.4
I still have a ways to go to get to my goal weight, I'll keep tracking and working out.

Saturday night was a special one. We (the fam) were invited up to Peterborough to meet my future sis-in
loves family.  Danielle comes from a huge family (her dad is one of 10 kids and each of the kids has 3 or 4 children of their own, she has 37 first cousins just on her dads side!) We got there around 7 and her mom/dad, 2 sisters were there. (Her brother was away at university, so we didn't meet him) It was nice just meeting her immediate family members before the billion others came.

We got to know more about the wedding plans, like who's in the wedding party. Danielle has asked me, her two sisters (who will share maid of honour roles), her cousin. Ryan has picked his BFF Jesse to be his best man, D's brother, and two friends from college.

It was a good evening as I said. D has two sisters, Andrea who is 26 and Shannon who is 20. They both were incredibly sweet to me. Easy to talk too, very fun and outgoing. I'm so excited to see the whole family again. I feel like we will become good friends :)

With the wedding, I may or may not have already started looking at dresses! I've found two that I like. We (D, her sisters and I) agreed that we would have the same colour but different dresses. I've never liked the idea of having the same dress style. Hello, we all are different!

I'm going to uni next year! I accepted to Ryerson for Child and Youth Care starting in fall 2011. I'm happy that I decided to go there.

That's about it. Exciting stuff is happening around here! Can't wait to share more.

happy monday.

Wanna know something?
I'm a TV junkie.
I just realized it.

Today is Tuesday and that means I need to watch Monday's shows. Since I work most evenings I watch tv online the next day. Bethenny ever after just premiered last week in Canada. Since it was on last night in the US of A I thought it wold be on here. Makes sense? Anyways I went to project free tv and clicked Bethenny ever after. Was the new episode there? Nope. I may or may have not gotten upset. Just a tad.

Then I remember The Secret life of the American Teenager was on! And I had to watch How I Met Your Mother too! So happy :)

When I say I'm a tv juckie, I don't sit around on the couch/computer chair for hours watching random shows, I only watch the ones I follow religiously.

Let's go back to the beginning.

Sunday night: Desperate Housewives, Amazing race. Both are right after another.
Monday night: SLAT, HIMYM, Kate plus 8 (if its on)
Tuesday night: Biggest Loser, 16 and pregnant (I watch that on Tuesday night since I'm home by 930)
Wednesday night: fav night! Glee with the BFF.
Thursday night: Grey's, Jersey Shore (don't judge, watch this at 10 since I'm home)
Friday night: catch up day, in case I didn't watch some shows during the week.
(I watch them the next day)

There you have it. From looking at my list, I admit I watch a lot of shows! It's only for a an hour or two each day, I swear I have a life! Don't judge :)

Off to watch SLAT and HIMYM!

happy tuesday!

I can't even remember how we functioned in the old kitchen before.

happy sunday friends!

Not sure what to call this..blah

I'm going to say it now, this post is not a fun one. It's more for me to vent. It's times like these where I truly believe blogging is a free form of therapy.

It's April, meaning this is the month that university students come home for the summer. Including my "friends." I have this one friend "N" who came home monday. She and I got really close this summer, only becuase she and her bff M had multiple falling outs. To this day I do believe that the only reason we became close was because she wasn't with her "BFF" all.the.time.

N went away to university this year and I didn't. In early october N clearly told me that she's in university and I can't be telling her my "highschool" drama all the time. WTH?! That should have been clue number one. When she said that, I stood up for myself (which N doesn't like) and she and I didn't talk for close to a month. No skype, no calls, no texts. Z.E.R.O. She needed "space." (Frankly I don't think "friends" need space. Ever. Karen my BFF and I have ever needed space.) But Space is how N deals with her problems. Just doesn't talk about them. So 3.5 weeks later she texted me out of the blue, acting as if nothing had happened. I did tell her that I was hurt. Her response? Be my friend or don't be, I don't care. Clue number two.
Did I mention that this all happened after I spent the weekend with her? I guess not.

N is also the type of friend who bugs me about going to church. Just making fun, poking fun is more like it. N is also the type of person you can't stand up to easily. "Are those your church shoes?" (what are church shoes?) "Well I doubt you can come out tonight, you have church in the morning." (Since when do you tell me what I can and can not do?)
I understand that not all people believe in God or go to church.I get that. But it gives you NO RIGHT to make fun or judge me because of that.

So fast forward to this week. N came home monday night. Wednesday we decided to exchange cards since our birthdays passed. N texted me asking if I wanted to go walk her dog. No harm in that, I thought, so I replied "sure!" She was about half an hour late, which was fine because I just home from a run and needed a shower. She pulls up and doesn't get out.  I asked if she was coming in. "No. we're going to go walk Tucker." Turns out she wanted to drive 15 mins away to a dog park. Okay fine. Now it's 1:45, Karen was supposed to come over at 2. I texted Karen and told her that we had to push back our plans, she was okay with that. I told N that Karen and I had plans at 2 but that we've pushed it back to 2:45. "I should have just left you at home" she said to me. Ouch. Since I didn't want to make a scene or ruin the "nice time" I didn't say anything. We left and got home before 2:45. All was good.

On Thursday (yesterday) was the second round of my play. I found out some very exciting news before we started rehearsing. News that could change my life. (For the good) I can't say anything right this second becuase a) I don't want to jinx it and b) I don't want this fall through and have to explain what happened. When the time is right I will tell the blog world.
I called my mom to tell her. Texted my friend M, who is a major in drama. Texted Karen and texted N. I told them three that I have news but I can't tell over text becuase it's BIG! M and Karen texted back right away being so overly happy and wanting to know more. N was not that excitied, so I told them that I would facebook message M/N and I would call Karen. I got home around 1 and went on fb to send the messages. I made it straight to the point and sent it. M texted me back within mintues being so happy and a little jealous. Nothing from N. Karen was happy as ever! A couple of hours later N texted me saying (word for word: You could have texted me that...and cool) That's it! No explanation marks. Nothing. I wrote back "hahaha that is all I have to say." Really I wanted to say "you losly friend. When you have this oppunity to try out for a pro hockey team, I'll remember this." But being the good Christain I am, I didn't.

How can someone be so rude. She knew when she typed it that it wasn't overly happy. And the thing with texts is it's hard to read emotions so ya you have to use more happy faces or (these things:!!!!!)

To say I'm hurt is an understatement. Over the past 8 months I've many times, I'm done with N. I hate to give up on this "friendship", if you want to call it that. But sometimes you realize that there are people in this world who want to tare you down. Not uplift you.

This kinda helped.

*N, if you're reading this, which I doubt you are, this is my blog and I can't write anything I want, including how I feel about this situation. You know what I have written is true. I would never lie here. Or anywhere. I honestly don't know why I can't stand up to you, why I can't pull the plug on this friendship where I'm treated horrible. I don't know why.
