Excuses and Regrets

I took a year off from high school before I enter the big world of university, most of my classmates did not and so, every time I log onto Facebook it seems everyone and their mom is graduating from university. Me? 1 more year. This time next year will be my turn. Finally

I've been thinking lots that come 365-ish days from now I will be leaving the world I've known for the past 3 years. My classmates that I've grown so close to in the past few years will be moving away. Who knowns where I'll be. I won't see those people everyday like I do now. Those weekly traditions with friends such as talking about last night's teen mom (it's so bad but so good) won't happen as much. Everything will be changing and that makes me really really sad.

I always here stories along the lines of not seeing university friends after graduation, you say you will but life gets in the way. Excuses begin and 1 year goes by and no one has gotten together. Then 2 and so on. That's so sad! The hardest part is that happened to me this week and it sucks.

I had a really close friend of mine fast track and a whole 1 year early is done her undergrad. So great! But gut wrenching when we texts me to say that she's in Montreal and leaving for home, Saudi Arabia this Tuesday.

Ok, I thought-we'll do lots when she comes back---since she's only away for the summer. Or so I thought. Nope, Wafa isn't sure she'll ever come back. No plans what so ever.

I went to bed Thursday with tears, the thought of never seeing her again when we saw each other multiple times a week is a tough pill to swallow.

Now I'm on the regret train. I regret so much, we didn't make enough plans. To many reasons why hanging out wouldn't work. And now it's so late. It sucks. She knows how sad I am.

Even thought Waf's is gone, I'm going to make this the best school year ever. No more I have to be up early excuses, creating memories is worth it. Thanks for teaching me that Wafa.

If you came over for coffee

If you came over for coffee this afternoon, I would tell you...

...That I'm 2/3 done exams, which is super exciting. 1 exam and 1 short write up separates me from freedom...for a week. Since I'm doing a lot of summer courses.

...That I'm so happy Alex joined the Y a few weeks a go. It' really fun working out together (especially when I correct his form and he gets embarrassed) and he's getting really healthy.

...I would mention that I was asked to run a half marathon in October and I'm really not sure if I want to. I've been running a bit, 5km here, 3 km there which makes me miss running but I don't know if I want to commit to all the training involved for a half.

...That Alex and I are going away to Niagara Falls for the day. Hitting the water park, some shopping and dinner and I CAN NOT wait.

So this is what happened when the Parents aren't around

Our words have a lot of impact, especially on children. They can either make or break a young child and as an educator that is something I remind myself on a daily basis when speaking with my students at placement. If only all teachers could say a little reminder to themselves every once an a while.

Thursday afternoon I was dead tired and got myself a cup of coffee before the little guys came in. As I'm pouring another teacher comes in and starts to make small talk with me.

Teacher: "Hi lovely."
Me: "hi there!"
....getting cups and cream
T: "you're getting some coffee too, eh?
Me: "ya, I need a little something to get me through the rest of the afternoon."
T: "I know what you mean, my kids are being little fucks."

Nice.

I did that laugh that happens when you have no freakin clue what to do or say next. I regretted it right after. Knowing this teacher had no idea who I was, I introduced myself. Let's be honest, I could be something from the School Board.
"I'm Sarah, a Ryerson student in Mrs.____ classroom"
"Oh I used to teach kindergarten, but now I teach Jr. Autism."

At this point, I was furious she called her Autistic students that ugly word. Thankfully she left because I was just about to.

It's been a few days now since this 30 seconds encounter happened but I just cannot get it out of my head. Educators have a job that requires them to love every one of their students. Giving love to the children who (in this school) do not get a lot of love at home.

I get that we have our days and moments where we're tired, we've had a fight with our boyfriend, we're getting frustrated and ya, when the bell rings at 3:15pm and the students are gone, we are thankful the day is over or make a comment that so-and-so was annoying today. But it's a comment we make sure we could say in front of the parents. I do not believe that the Jr. Autism teacher could stand in front of a parent and tell them their child is a little fucker. No way Jose.

The next day I saw her students perform a song/dance/play during the sharing assembly and the students did an amazing job. It filled my heart with so much joy seeing how proud one of the boys was when he finished his whistling solo. Then it made me angry when I saw the same teacher, give a thumbs up with a grin, praising this boy when the previous day she showed another side.

I can only hope that as I was telling Alex about this that she was telling someone in her life how much she regretted calling them that name and saying it out loud to me.

We have to love them.

Lost and found: Passion

Since I was a little girl, hmm around 8 or so I knew 10406% that I wanted to become an elementary teacher. That feeling when I would tell folks my plan gave me chills because it felt so right in my heart.

Thinking of teaching 22 eight year olds made me grin so much and I couldn't wait to have my own class.

During the past few months at school, I've been hearing lots of talk of girls changing their ultimate job goals and saying that being around children this much is making them dislike children. I don't blame them for feeling that like.

For me, around the end of October, I began to start thinking the same thoughts and second guessing my ability to be an amazing teacher.
I was able to finish the semester while pushing the thoughts aside but they came back full force during the Christmas break. Fully thinking I've wasted 2.5 years of school on a program I don't like.

Sharing with Alex and my parents that I was beginning to think I wasn't made to be a teacher and love on those children was tough. Tough because it's what everyone around me has encouraged me to pursue.

Tough because if I don't teach, what other jobs are out there?!  Kidding, a little...

When classes were starting up again I prayed a lot for help and guidance, especially with doing a student placement in a school this semester. I needed help because I knew it wasn't right to go a full 180 on what passion.

I guess these thoughts was stress creeping up on me because as soon as I was introduced to those sweet, sweet kindergartens children, I knew once again that I, Sarah will be a teacher one day. And a darn good one too.

Not giving up on my dreams

Well, that 31 days off from school flew by. I sure enjoyed it, who wouldn't! Went to the gym lots, built muscle and spent much needed quality time with Alex.

But today school starts back up and I'm scared. And nervous. Nervous about handling the courses, bringing my best to my placement in the elementary classroom and leaving enough time to workout and be a girlfriend. Scared that I won't pass all my courses and have a repeat of the fall semester.

Thinking like this and worrying won't help. It's not getting my anywhere but allowing that negativity to win.

So, instead of thinking poorly, I'm thinking happy and positive thoughts. I can get through university. I can still have time to workout, even if I have to wake up early to do so. I can be an awesome girlfriend.

Being a teacher is my dream. Has been since I was 8. When I daydream about having those 25 eight years olds in my care everyday, helping then learn...it makes me tear up. When I remember that feeling-I can't give up on my dream.

I have tons of people in my corner who are supporting and rooting for me. With that awesome and warm feeling of family and friends behind me, I will be successful at this semester and kick it's butt!

I know it.

What the neighbours think.

I'm taking a little break from stuffing my head full of Canadian Politics (which is actually really interesting). Exam is tomorrow and I need to pass.  Keep them positive thoughts coming my way.

Christmas is in full effect here at the Hannon household. Tree is up, snow globes are out and the music is playing every waking moment. Totally sound like a cheesy commercial for Walmart or something. I was sad that we didn't cut down our own tree at a farm like we did a few years back. Turns out those trees were from Quebec.
Today I decided to study at home, instead of going to the library. Big mistake. I just cant study at home. My day literally is "oh I gotta pee" "and now that I'm up I'll check my phone for messages."

5 minutes later.
"but I need a snack to keep me going"-gets up and makes food
And before I know it, 2 hours have gone by and I've done 15 minutes of studying.
When I study at home I never get dressed. No point to me. And so when the mailman delivers the mail and the lovely neighbour comes and gives my Christmas decoration that fell down, they both give me strange looks. So what if it's 3pm and I'm not dressed. Stop judging!

I've decided to not run a half marathon in March. That's when my next half should be if I keep following the Running Room schedule. I'm still going to run with everyone to keep active but with school keeping me very busy, I don't want to let my marks slip again because I'm focused on training.
Also, I'm obsessed with the Y and the classes there.
So if I miss a run here or there? Not a biggie.

Whin, Whin and more whiny

I'm pretty angry at my school right now---

Monday and yesterday, I had two big mid terms to study for. Since monday I had a 3 hour break (way to long btw) I went to the library with a friend of mine to study. Same with Tuesday.

I walked around the library, went to 3 "study" floors, where I passed many people sleeping, watching videos on their computers etc. When I finally found a spot.

Tuesday I did the same thing. Went to the study floors, walked around and found no empty seats. Finally I left, because no one was getting up and walked to where my mid term was being held and found a table and a chair and made my own study space.

The reason I'm so mad? Ryerson can spend 175,000+ on painting the cement ground of our school colours when that money could be spent on more study spaces! Waste of money. Waste of hard earned $$$. It ticks me off.
~

I try and be a positive person, to be more "walk a mile in there shoes" before I say something in my head. Easier said than done. Right?

Well I lost it last night. It was Alex's birthday yesterday and I love celebrating people's birthday's because it's there day. We had breakfast together, he went to play golf with his 3 best friends as I went to school. After, some of his best friends said they'd come down to my area to have dinner. We were so excited. But it never happen since they bailed and made excuses about how long the drive is. The drive that Alex and I make a lot to spend time with friends. It hurts ya, know. To always make an effort to be somewhere and have it not returned. Alex is very hurt which makes me super sad.

Friendship is a two way street. That's all I'll say.
~~

Feels good to get things off my chest.

Wednesday Randoms

  • As my other university friends are getting into day 3 of classes, I'm still enjoying the last few days of my 5 week Christmas break. And? I'm not bored at all. Sleeping till 9am, slowly getting out of head and running have become my new daily routine and I will miss it. Not looking forward to essays at.all!

  • I started tracking my food intake right after New Years, and have lost 2 pounds. Thanks MyFitnessPal!

  • Half marathon training is going great. I wont tell you about my embarrassing bathroom emergency that happened on Saturday. Felt like an 80 year old person!

  • Friday is special. It's Alex and mine 6 month (dating) anniversary. We're getting dressed up, having dinner at Wayne Gretzky's restaurant and seeing a comedy show tomorrow.

Christmas Break To-Do lis

Side note: Happy 54th birthday to my mommy! She's doing great with the treatments. Chemo was ugly toward the end and she has started radiation on Friday. please continue to pray for her.
~

A few weeks a go, while writing a very boring essay (are essay's ever fun!?) I started day-dreaming about my month off  37 days off from school for Christmas break! Yes, once again got super lucky.

I started thinking of all the fun things to do and made a Christmas Break 2012 To-Do list.

  • exercise everyday. Running, 30 day shred, weights, yoga. Anything!
  • bake a ginger bread loaf
  • bake chocolate caramel muffins
  • make a craft
  • read 5 books
  • ice skating at Harbourfront
  • Take a sleid ride with Alex

Whats on your holiday to-do list?

I'm back folks!

After a 19 day running hiatus, I'm back!

I told myself that when school was in full swing this semester I would still run at least 2 times a week.
HAHA! That clearly didn't happen.  But now that school is slowing down (a week today I'm done!) I'm so happy to be pounding the pavement again!

And I even signed up for  the Peterborough half marathon in February! My first race of the the 2013 running year! And my second half marathon! SO EXCITED!

Where I talk about my love for Friday's

First off-thank you for your kind words on my last post about getting to my goal weight. It's hard to put into words how happy I am right now. So thanks.
~

I can't believe in 4 short hours I will be going into my last class for first year. This year has flown by, which is great but scares me a little bit, before you know it I'll be walking across that stage.
~

Friday's are awesome around here. I seriously love Friday's.

All week I have all-day classes and placement. Some days I go straight to placement and right to work not getting home until 9:45pm. It's a long day.

But knowing Friday is coming up, keeps me going.

Friday's I don't have class until 2pm. It's soooo nice to sleep in! and slowly get ready. I can actually sit down and read the newspaper, eat my breakfast and read my morning devotionals.

It's heaven.

Monday's are also like this. No rushing around, time for myself.

I will make sure to plan my friday classes in the late afternoon next year.
~

Gotten from here

In other news, I'm off to Boston this weekend as my dad is running in the marathon. So excited to have a target 1.2miles away from our hotel and a kohl's 6 miles away! Oh and to see my dad run.

If you're watching the online stream on monday, look for a red hair man with CANADA written on his back. That's my daddy :)

Dream killers.

Wanna know my biggest pet peeve? No, it's not the fact that I hated waiting over 25 minutes for the subway on thursday when it comes every 2-3 minutes. Ya, you do the math of how many trains I couldn't get on to that morning. Gah! So many commuters. So little space. ::sarcasm::

My pet peeve is not when the girls in my program, who are doing their placement in may when school is done so they only have classes 3 out of 5 days right now. No, it doesn't bug me when they sit in class complaining how exhausted they are and how they aren't going to class tomorrow because they need to rest.
How about you try waking up at 6am, working from 8:30-4:30 and go to work till 10pm. Do that and then you have the right to complain. No, it's doesn't bug me. ::sarcasm::

My biggest pet peeve, the thing that gets my blood boiling besides animal abuse and neglect is when people crush my dreams of becoming a teacher.

I know right now, there are no teaching jobs what- so -ever. Unless you teach french or music, don't except a job right out of university.

I know this.

I am aware of it.

I don't need convosations that go like this:

other person: "what do you want to do after your B.A?"

me: "teachers college."

other person: "oh? you want to teach"?

me: "yup!"

other person: "you know there are no jobs. My daughter/niece/dog walkers-sisters-neighbour is a teacher and waited ___ years to get a job."

That my friends is my biggest pet peeve.

Yes I know it's very hard to get a teaching job. My own brother has been out of school for 2 years and is still not teaching.

I don't know why people say this to me! What do they expect me to do? Say, "you're right, there are no jobs, I'll go quit school on monday."

Sorry, not happening. Teaching is why I was put on this earth. I was made to teach young minds. To have 25, 8 year olds call me Ms.Hannon. Teaching is my calling and I will everything I can do make it happen.

So? I ask of all who are reading this. If you are talking with a student, don't tell them what has been said to me. Don't kill dreams. Say something sweet and move on because chances are, they already know how hard it is to get a job in that field.

Happy Monday!

Different kind of classroom

I've been looking forward to second semester at school for one reason. Placement.

I got lucky and was placed at the child care center near my house. For this semester, I work with the pre-school/kindergartens. Most of the kids are 3 years old but we do have the occasional 2.5 year old and 5 year old.

It's so nice to be out my regular university classroom and stepping into a little kid classroom.

Tuesday was my first day and surprisingly, I wasn't nervous. So eager to start and to learn hands on with kids. It's great to learn the theory from the textbook but in real life I won't have the time to crack open my textbooks and re-learn how to deal with a children. Know what I mean?

The guy (we need more males in early childhood education) I "shadow" is so great with the kids. He has that balance of being sweet to the kids but he also can raise his voice and discipline the children if needed.

My favourite time of the day is picking up the kids from school. This week, my teacher and I had to leave the center at 2:55 to pick up the kindergartens from afternoon school. It was so nice to get some fresh air.

I admit, I already have favourites. I know I'm not supposed to but it's so hard not to. Especially when I picked them up from school on Wednesday and one of the kids ran over to me and gave me a huge hug. Melt my heart.

I like my hours too. On Tuesdays, my shift is always 9am-5pm as I work and Wednesdays whatever hours my field teacher that I shadow has, those are my hours too. Sometimes I might be on the 7am-3pm or 8:30-4:30pm shift.

My breaks are sweet too. An hour for lunch and two 15 minute breaks!

I have a good feeling that I'm going to love working at this center! Can't wait to go back :)
Happy Tuesday

Far from perfect

One of the reasons I love blogging is because I can show that I'm far from perfect.

I find that it's so easy for bloggers to just post the happy things. Not the deep things. Only the "my life is so good!" stuff. Now I do have to say, I completely understand that bloggers have the right to chose what they post.
So if they choose not to write about something, I get it.
~

Yesterday I was a bad friend. Yesterday I let my anger and frustrations get the best of me and I feel terrible.

I have these two friends at school that are the complete opposite of myself and my study habits. My one friend (let's call her Emily) will come to class, and at break time it will come up that we have a test the next day and Emily wouldn't even know! Even though we have a course outline with a weekly schedule.

She was the one that came to our Psych exam in December with no pencil.

Not to mention that everyone will laugh when this happens. It's not funny. I don't think its funny when you are farting and fooling around. It's not funny that you took a persons spot in this program and you are dicking around. I do think of myself as a caring person so this is why it's so hard to watch the girls mess up and not stand up on their own.

My other friend, call her Julia comes to me for everything. Every question, she comes to me.

"what time is our training today?"

"where is our training today?"

"how to do get there?"

"how do I cite ____?"

"who's our faculty advisor?"- in the middle of our training.

Julia has this habit of texting me in the morning as I'm getting ready. This happened on tuesday, she texted me and didn't know where our training was. I totally didn't have time to look up the building name, room number etc because I had 20 minutes till my bus came and my hair needed to be fixed.

So yesterday I couldn't hold it in. The amount of times and the amount of questions were getting out of hand. I was starting to feel like I was Emily and Julia's mom, walking them through school.

Emily and Julia knew something was wrong and kept asking but it's kinda awkward to answer when they're the problem.

After lunch yesterday, Julia and I went to the guidance office to swap classes and such. As I was coming out of the office Julia asked me a simple question in which I lost it.

She asked when she has Sociology 104. The reason I freaked? We aren't in the same class that day. Meaning I don't know her friday class schedule. Why would she think I knew her class times?! Beyond me.

I looked her in the eyes and said, "I don't know your schedule, Julia" and walked away. I was livid. It scares me, how they don't do anything them selves and rely on others.

She caught up to me and continued to ask why I was upset. In which I said, "stress."

Finally I let it out.

She needed to know how I felt. I feel like I take care of her and Emily more than myself. I feel like my own assignments come second as I'm helping them. Which I don't mind, but every 5 minutes means I can't focus on my own essay. When all we talk about is how you haven't started the essays and its due in 3 days just gets to me.

I know some might say, just ignore the texts and calls. But I can't. I guess part of me remembers Karma.  My biggest fear is needing help with something, clarification on a question etc and not having my friends help me out because I have never been there for them in the past.
~

Julia and I had a good heart to heart. We needed it as I've been holding this in since mid-term..of last semester.

I feel horrible. My anger is my downfall and once again I couldn't control it and once again I bottled it up inside of me.

See? I am far from perfect.

Back to the grind.

Well here it is. School has started up again for me and thousands of others. I've enjoyed my 5 weeks off. I know, I got lucky. I have so many friends that were lucky to get 2.5 weeks off and had to go back late last week in order to make it back in time.

I'm proud that I accomplished all my goals for the break. I ran 3 and sometimes 4 times a week, more than 5k. I finished Friday Night Lights! Cried like a baby. I gave to charity. I rested.

I had a wonderful few weeks spending time with family and friends. Loved staying up till 2am and getting up a 11am. Loved taking my time to get ready to go out. Loved enjoying one to many beers.

But...

School's back. Boo.

I had a good 1st semester of university. I learned a whole lot. Not just about my field but I learned so much about myself. How I learn. What works and what doesn't. I learned not to be caught up in other peoples issues about organization. I learned that it's okay to take a night off work to catch up on readings and its fine to tell your boss you aren't coming back to Thursday's evening. School comes first. I learned that God will understand if I miss worship on Sunday mornings to write an essay, isn't that why we have Sunday evening worship? I kid.

This semester is a bit different as I have placement in a daycare Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8am-4pm. With a lunch break and two 15 minute breaks! So excited to take a walk during lunch and maybe do some homework too. Meaning classes all day mondays and thursday. Thankfully I only have a tourial on Friday's from 1-2pm.

Enough about my class schedule.

I hope to keep running. After all, running is helping me lose weight. I've already mapped out when I will have the time to excercise. Sadly, I can't do it in my two hour break on Thursdays. I smell really bad after I run.

Is it sad that I'm already counting down the days weeks till I'm done?

So much to fill you guys in about!

Linking up today with Cassie from Lowercase Letters.        .

~ I babysat Friday night for the first time in 2 years (I don't count babysitting my cousins who are 8 and 10 babysitting, more hanging out.) When I was 14, 15 and 16, I babysat either every Friday or Saturday night and sometimes both nights! For a 15 year old, making 60 bucks a week is gold!

The boy wasn't...bad  but he screamed at the top of his lungs when he talked and his laugh wasn't a belly-laugh but an ear screeching sound. I didn't want to be rude but I had to tell him to keep it down,  ya know for the neighbours of either side of him...

He was a pain to put to bed. Pulled the "the other sitters let me stay up."  I'm sure they do but this babysitter has been up since 7, had two classes and wants to read her red book magazine. Oh gosh, this makes me sound so lazy. I'm not. And when he said he reads a book before bed...which is fine, I'm not going to say no to a story (I am supposed to encourage reading!) But I didn't know he read.every.little.thing INCLUDING the bar code. After 25 minutes of reading this book and 30 minutes past his bedtime I told him he could finish reading tomorrow.

Maybe I'm a bit rusty. Gotta get back into the swing of sitting.

~ I signed up for a 5k race on February 12, 2012. I got champagne and chocolate at the end :)
AND
I signed up for a 10k on may 5, 2012! So excited to train for a 10k :)
Karen wants to do a 5k in the spring too. She's never run one and I told her if she signed up then I would to! So ya, another race in march/April.

~ I had a great week on weight watchers. Lost 2.2 pounds! Total: 10.4 :) Another 13 pounds and I'll be at my goal!

~ Two weeks today I'll be done school :) The end is rear!!!

Well guys, I have a psych paper that is due at midnight tonigh, gotta get back to working on it!
happy day, friends!

He DOES answer prayers!

I had a breakdown last night. I knew it was coming, you know that feeling? Ya, I got it.

I have two weeks left of school, including exams and its crunch time. Next week I have a paper and 3....THREE tests! Two are which are the end of semester term tests, so they cover at least 7 chapters. Death I tell ya, it is death.

I feel like I handle stress well but not in this case.

So yesterday I got home at noon from class and started on my project that was due tomorrow (which is today). I knew I would have to work on it after work which was fine. I had my coffee at hand so I was ready.

As I was working I thought about how I was telling my dad on wednesday that all I want is to sit down on the couch with a cup of tea and read my glamour magazine. I just want to relax. I could do that but what's more important? Magazines or getting good grades so I can get into teacher's college so I can teach? My point.

Now I had 2 hours to finish the first part of the assignment, get to work, make my dinner for work and pack my running gear to run on my break.

At that point I lost it.

Totally broke down in tears sobbing and praying my heart out. I've never had that praying and crying thing happen at the same time. It's either one of the other but not both at the same time. I told God that I know I can get through this next couple of weeks but I need him to take away my stress and walk beside me. After my amen I got a cold drink of water, took a few deep breaths and started writing again.

Here is the good part.

About 40 minutes later my boss calls my house phone telling me that a pipe burst in the pool and he was told to shut down the programs tonight! ::insert choir singing Hallelujah here::

I told my boss "A" thank you because I have so much to do tonight and could use the night off. I did think of taking the night off but I already took tuesday and next thursday off. He laughed but I meant it.

I knew while talking to my boss that  I shouldn't just be thanking "A" but God.

I truly believe that was an act of his power. See? He does answers prayers.

Have a wonderful day, friends :) i love you all.

Thankful Tuesday

Lately I haven't been myself. Maybe it's the stress of school and finding out that 24 hours is not enough time to get things done but I'm very moody and my poor parents are the ones who are paying for it.
I need to do this post to remind myself that everything will be okay in the end.

~I am thankful for my family who loves me and tells me daily to keep pushing through the exam period and tell me that I will make a great teacher.

~I am thankful for friends. Not just Karen but my new friends I have made at school. The days that I don't want to go to class, I remember the fun times we have before, during and after class and  this makes me go. Of course I feel used when they text me the night before our class to see what readings we have to do and when the next test is but I am thankful that they know that they can come to me for answers and a listening ear.

~I am thankful for Jesus. Every second Saturday is Ladies Class at my church and this past Saturday my church decided to hold a Ladies Retreat day and invite the 3 local churches (20 minutes away or less) to come. It was an all day event and I needed it. I have realized that going to church weekly isn't enough for my faith and I need to go to the re-treats held by the churches in Southern Ontario more often.

~I am thankful that I have 2 weeks left of class until exams!

~I am thankful that yesterday I was able to pick up my younger cousins from school. I hardly get to watch them at lunch/ after school because I don't go to class from 9-3pm now. Last night there was a scary family emergency on my aunts side of family that she needed to deal with so I spent about 2 hours with the kiddo's. I loved it :)

~I am thankful for a job. Enough though I complain about my co-workers, I know come January I might not have a job as the Mayor will be locking us out! That is a totally different post. So right now I am thankful for one!

~I am thankful for my high school friends who I still talk to a few times a week, my one friend Meghan and I are have plans to hang out lots this Christmas break I love her :) . I let go of a few friendships this spring that were really toxic and haven't looked back. I still get texts from the girls and I'll reply but  I won't be treated like dirt anymore.

LASTLY

~ I am thankful for blog friends. I love hearing about the everyday stories and reading the "I'm pregnant posts" and following along as some plan their weddings! I hope to meet most (or all!!!!) one day :)

My TV Debut

Did y'all love how I posted like 4 days in a row?
If you noticed :)

Sometimes I get a great post idea and need to write. I was actually at work on tuesday when I thought of doing a blog post about the Kardashian Wedding!

Remember how I said I on MTV? The guy told me I would either be on that night (tuesday) or Wednesday. I made sure I taped the episodes and last wednesday I was on!

Enjoy :)

Even though I was interviewed for a good five mintues, they only aired 4 or 5 seconds of me! The Chinese girl you saw? Her name is Vanessa and I was standing beside her :)

So cool.

weekend update and nails

The only thing I can think about these days is a) 3 weeks till winter break b) Early Childhood Education. This is all I can manage today. I do have a non-random post ready for friday.

On Friday night, I went back to my high school to see the class of 2011 graduate. Many of the kids I've known since grade 1 and I got close to more last year during the victory lap. I mainly wanted to see my friend, Faiza's valedictorian speech. I've known her since grade 1 and got close to her when her mom passed away from breast cancer when she was 6. Faiza was student body prez for the 10-11 school year and she was the one who brought change to said highschool. She is now taking poli-sci at Carleton which is in the nations capital. She has dreams to come back to Toronto and be a politician. I KNOW her dreams will happen. Her speech was great! I find a lot of them are either to funny or to sappy. Hers had a bit of both and she totally quoted the old spice guy.

On Saturday, my family went up to Peterborough to visit Ryan and Danielle. We hadn't seen Ry since thanksgiving and Danielle since labour day weekend.

We weren't really planning on it, but I got my bridesmaids dress! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Come back wednesday and I'll show you it :)

Sunday was a HUGE homework day. Oh university life.

Now for the randoms.
~

I've had it easy with my class schedule this semester. With having two days off during the week. And, it just keeps getting better. I found out on Thursday that my one and only exam is on the first day of the exam period, December 5th. So on December 5th at 3pm, I will be done school for the Christmas! Best of all, I go back January 9th.
I'm going to enjoy the time off since starting in January, I will have placement twice a week plus 4 classes. Hello, no days off. ::Insert crying here::

I finally painted my nails Meep, Meep, Meep by OPI on Thursday.

Love it :)

I'm totally having a tattoo fever again! #Vague

~

I have found my new stress relief. Running. I downloaded couch to 5k about a month a go and seriously love it so much. I'm on week 7, day 2 out of 9, I plan to get the couch to 10k and train for a 10k race which I'll do in the spring. I've been running about 3x a week for 30 minutes! Hopefully this will help me get to my goal weight for the wedding sooner :)
