What I'm loving and Oh, how Pinteresting

Has it really been a week and a half since my last post?! Sorry for the week hiatus. 

Last week at school was my "week of hell." I had two papers due and 3 tests! I didn't have time to blog and even if I did i know you guys don't want to hear me complain about lack of time and such. Thankfully I made it through :) I'm now done classes (last one was yesterday) and I am working on my last assignment due tomorrow by 4pm, an exam monday at noon then I. am. DONE! So excited to sleep in, blog!, watch this season of the biggest loser, enjoy my aunts dog that we are watching this coming week and bake :)

Here is what I am LOVING today!

~I am loving my new SIL to be. She did the sweetest thing. Let me explain.

Usually for Christmas, Ryan and Danielle come down and join my mom's side of the family for Christmas eve. Then they either go back to their house that night or come to my house and sleep over, have homemade egg McMuffins and open presents between us four  five and then leave. 

Ryan has missed Christmas dinner at my Grandma's the last 2 years because they have to see Danielle's side of the family. It sucks but we understand. Oh the joys of becoming one. 

This weekend my mom asked Ryan what was going on for Chrismas. Are they sleeping over? Going back Christmas eve? Or what! 

Ryan told my mom that Danielle said that them two would be spending Christmas eve AND Christmas morning/day with us! She said that since she gets to see her family (Ry and her live 4 minutes away from her parents house) that they see her family all the time. It's only fair. 

My mom/dad and me are completely overjoyed at her thoughtfulness. We realize that this won't happen every year but we will enjoy it. 

~I am loving that I am done classes :)

~I am loving running :) I downloaded the Nike Plus app and have logged 16.83k since last wednesday!

~ I babysat Friday night for the first time in 2 years (I don't count babysitting my cousins who are 8 and 10 babysitting, more hanging out.) When I was 14, 15 and 16, I babysat either every Friday or Saturday night and sometimes both nights! For a 15 year old, making 60 bucks a week is gold! 

The boy wasn't...bad  but he screamed at the top of his lungs when he talked and his laugh wasn't a belly-laugh but an ear screeching sound. I didn't want to be rude but I had to tell him to keep it down,  ya know for the neighbours of either side of him...

He was a pain to put to bed. Pulled the "the other sitters let me stay up."  I'm sure they do but this babysitter has been up since 7, had two classes and wants to read her red book magazine. Oh gosh, this makes me sound so lazy. I'm not. And when he said he reads a book before bed...which is fine, I'm not going to say no to a story (I am supposed to encourage reading!) But I didn't know he read.every.little.thing INCLUDING the bar code. After 25 minutes of reading this book and 30 minutes past his bedtime I told him he could finish reading tomorrow.

Maybe I'm a bit rusty. Gotta get back into the swing of sitting.

~ I signed up for a 5k race on February 12, 2012. I got champagne and chocolate at the end :)

AND

I signed up for a 10k on may 5, 2012! So excited to train for a 10k :)

Karen wants to do a 5k in the spring too. She's never run one and I told her if she signed up then I would to! So ya, another race in march/April.

~ I had a great week on weight watchers. Lost 2.2 pounds! Total: 10.4 :) Another 13 pounds and I'll be at my goal!

~ Two weeks today I'll be done school :) The end is rear!!!

Well guys, I have a psych paper that is due at midnight tonigh, gotta get back to working on it!

Even though the I have go into Eaton Center go get home, I stay away from it becasuse a) I'll spend all my money and  b) christmas is a'coming. I did spend almost $50 at Trade Secrets when I treated myself to OPI Muffets :) And we all agree how pretty they are.

My go-to flower?

I love peonies. I've already decided that those are my flowers for my wedding. You know, to my guy I haven't met..yet :)

School work. I love school, love knowing that I'm working towards a great degree but sometimes? I want to be lazy. December 5th can't come fast enough!

He DOES answer prayers!

I had a breakdown last night. I knew it was coming, you know that feeling? Ya, I got it.

I have two weeks left of school, including exams and its crunch time. Next week I have a paper and 3....THREE tests! Two are which are the end of semester term tests, so they cover at least 7 chapters. Death I tell ya, it is death.

I feel like I handle stress well but not in this case.

So yesterday I got home at noon from class and started on my project that was due tomorrow (which is today). I knew I would have to work on it after work which was fine. I had my coffee at hand so I was ready.

As I was working I thought about how I was telling my dad on wednesday that all I want is to sit down on the couch with a cup of tea and read my glamour magazine. I just want to relax. I could do that but what's more important? Magazines or getting good grades so I can get into teacher's college so I can teach? My point.

Now I had 2 hours to finish the first part of the assignment, get to work, make my dinner for work and pack my running gear to run on my break.

At that point I lost it.

Totally broke down in tears sobbing and praying my heart out. I've never had that praying and crying thing happen at the same time. It's either one of the other but not both at the same time. I told God that I know I can get through this next couple of weeks but I need him to take away my stress and walk beside me. After my amen I got a cold drink of water, took a few deep breaths and started writing again.

Here is the good part.

About 40 minutes later my boss calls my house phone telling me that a pipe burst in the pool and he was told to shut down the programs tonight! ::insert choir singing Hallelujah here::

I told my boss "A" thank you because I have so much to do tonight and could use the night off. I did think of taking the night off but I already took tuesday and next thursday off. He laughed but I meant it.

I knew while talking to my boss that  I shouldn't just be thanking "A" but God.

I truly believe that was an act of his power. See? He does answers prayers.

Thankful Tuesday

Lately I haven't been myself. Maybe it's the stress of school and finding out that 24 hours is not enough time to get things done but I'm very moody and my poor parents are the ones who are paying for it.
I need to do this post to remind myself that everything will be okay in the end.

~I am thankful for my family who loves me and tells me daily to keep pushing through the exam period and tell me that I will make a great teacher.

~I am thankful for friends. Not just Karen but my new friends I have made at school. The days that I don't want to go to class, I remember the fun times we have before, during and after class and  this makes me go. Of course I feel used when they text me the night before our class to see what readings we have to do and when the next test is but I am thankful that they know that they can come to me for answers and a listening ear.

~I am thankful for Jesus. Every second Saturday is Ladies Class at my church and this past Saturday my church decided to hold a Ladies Retreat day and invite the 3 local churches (20 minutes away or less) to come. It was an all day event and I needed it. I have realized that going to church weekly isn't enough for my faith and I need to go to the re-treats held by the churches in Southern Ontario more often.

~I am thankful that I have 2 weeks left of class until exams!

~I am thankful that yesterday I was able to pick up my younger cousins from school. I hardly get to watch them at lunch/ after school because I don't go to class from 9-3pm now. Last night there was a scary family emergency on my aunts side of family that she needed to deal with so I spent about 2 hours with the kiddo's. I loved it :)

~I am thankful for a job. Enough though I complain about my co-workers, I know come January I might not have a job as the Mayor will be locking us out! That is a totally different post. So right now I am thankful for one!

~I am thankful for my high school friends who I still talk to a few times a week, my one friend Meghan and I are have plans to hang out lots this Christmas break I love her :) . I let go of a few friendships this spring that were really toxic and haven't looked back. I still get texts from the girls and I'll reply but  I won't be treated like dirt anymore.

LASTLY

~ I am thankful for blog friends. I love hearing about the everyday stories and reading the "I'm pregnant posts" and following along as some plan their weddings! I hope to meet most (or all!!!!) one day :)

My TV Debut

Sometimes I get a great post idea and need to write. I was actually at work on tuesday when I thought of doing a blog post about the Kardashian Wedding!

Remember how I said I on MTV? The guy told me I would either be on that night (tuesday) or Wednesday. I made sure I taped the episodes and last wednesday I was on!

Even though I was interviewed for a good five mintues, they only aired 4 or 5 seconds of me! The Chinese girl you saw? Her name is Vanessa and I was standing beside her :)

Blogging PSA

Now that I've been blogging for 10 months (say wha?) I have a few things to get off my chest about blogging.

~ If you follow a blog, then the least you good do every once and a while is comment! For example: There are some people that follow me and yet have never commented! Never. Why have me show up in your reader yet never comment? *I totally feel like I'm going to lose followers now*

If you are reading this and haven't said hi lately? Well what are you waiting for?



~ Expanding from that, I know commenting and reading AND writing on your own blog is a lot sometimes, but for me, the blogs that I follow, I 90% of the time comment on. I guess I think its nice to do.



~ Can we stop with the comment verification, please. You know, the word which really aren't words that you have to type in just get your comment published? That. It's kinda annoying to be honest.



~ When someone comments on my blog, I always email them back commenting on their comment. Makes sense? So when people say "you look fab" or "aww your cat is so cute", I write back saying "thanks!" Or something a little personal. Always.
So when I comment on your blog regularly and you never respond? Makes me think you a)you don't read them so I feel like I wasted my time and b) Makes me think you *might* have a snobby bone in your body. There I said it.
I say might because there are bloggers I follow that get 100 comments a day, for realz, so ya, I understand that you can't respond to every single one. But maybe just once an a while?

We remember.

Today, is Remembrance day. A day to remember those who fought for our freedom and are still fighting today. 

My Grandpa Hannon was in World War II as a tank operator. He was shot in the right side of his brain and came home paralyzed. He met my Grandma Hannon and had my aunt and my daddy. 

So when 11am comes around, I hope everyone stops and for a moment to remember the heros.

As you know, I'm a sucker for Celebrity gossip. I don't buy US weekly..weekly but I do check US weekly.com a few times a week just to stay up to date.

With this said...PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THE KARDASHIAN WEDDING!
Why are we giving  so much air-time to a couple who broke their vows after 72 days?! Like where is the air-time for those who have lasted like um...both set of my grandparents who both respectively celebrated 50 and 60 years of marriage this past summer? Where's there shout out?!

Moving on.

So on Tuesday I was walking out my psych exam with my two friends when MTV Live stopped us to ask if we could answer some questions for them. After some hesitation we agreed to answer some questions about...The Kardashian wedding. Of course.

I'll be honest as soon as I heard the topic, I got excited! I have my thoughts and I was happy to air them. I let loose.

The guy asked us if we thought the divorce was a disgrace to the marriage institute and I said of course, my parents have been married for 29 (together for 32) and you don't just get a divorce when things get tough.

My personal thoughts and a question the guy asked, I think she jumped into everything to fast, I believe that yes she liked Kris but not "love" him enough to be with him  60+ years down the road.

It hurts me, someone who more than anything wants to get married, to see couples/individuals throw away this wonderful thing.

US weekly reported on Monday that The Duggards are expecting their 20th child in April. (Do I sounds like a celebrity blogger?!)

I've seen way to many hurtful comments on the 'net and honestly? It needs to stop. JB and Michelle are grown adults, meaning they are capable of making smart, responsible decisions about adding to their family. Yes, it's not normal for a women to birth 20 kids and sure, the female body probably isn't  made to grow 20 children but I'm sure they know what they are doing. Whatever happened to saying "I'll pray for a safe pregnancy/ labor and delivery? No need to be nasty.

What I'm loving Wednesday-My bridesmaids dress :)

I'm loving the bridemaid dress my future SIL choose for her girls. So in love with it. 
I didn't know when I saw my brother and SIL that day that I was trying it on so I a) didn't shave my legs and b) bring the proper bra. Because of this, I don't have pictures of me wearing it, but the good ole' internet does!


So this is the dress!

This was the default colour but the next picture is what Danielle picked. 

Number 1668 is it :) The colour is called "cognac." 
Danielle was creative and knew that her sister who has blue eyes and super pale skin wouldn't look good in this colour so since she's the MOH, she is in a coral. Her other sister who is the second MOH is in a lighter "cognac" colour and me and the three other bridesmaids are in cognac. 


I love it so much. Can't wait for May 12, 2012 to wear it! 


Surprisingly, it made my waist look so tiny. I still want to lose 15 more pounds just to look extra fab :)

I ask my lovely readers go to pop over and visit Veronica today. One year a go while 6 months pregnant with her third child, she lost her husband Jeremy at the age of 31. He was hunting when he suffered a heart attack. I met Jeremy when he and his Christian acapella group came back to his former high school's youth rally to sing in 2008. His passing has been such a shock for hundreds. For those pray warriors out there, please keep Vee and her three beautiful babies in your prayers today.

weekend update and nails

The only thing I can think about these days is a) 3 weeks till winter break b) Early Childhood Education. This is all I can manage today. I do have a non-random post ready for friday.


On Friday night, I went back to my high school to see the class of 2011 graduate. Many of the kids I've known since grade 1 and I got close to more last year during the victory lap. I mainly wanted to see my friend, Faiza's valedictorian speech. I've known her since grade 1 and got close to her when her mom passed away from breast cancer when she was 6. Faiza was student body prez for the 10-11 school year and she was the one who brought change to said highschool. She is now taking poli-sci at Carleton which is in the nations capital. She has dreams to come back to Toronto and be a politician. I KNOW her dreams will happen. Her speech was great! I find a lot of them are either to funny or to sappy. Hers had a bit of both and she totally quoted the old spice guy. 


On Saturday, my family went up to Peterborough to visit Ryan and Danielle. We hadn't seen Ry since thanksgiving and Danielle since labour day weekend. 


We weren't really planning on it, but I got my bridesmaids dress! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Come back wednesday and I'll show you it :)


Sunday was a HUGE homework day. Oh university life.

I've had it easy with my class schedule this semester. With having two days off during the week. And, it just keeps getting better. I found out on Thursday that my one and only exam is on the first day of the exam period, December 5th. So on December 5th at 3pm, I will be done school for the Christmas! Best of all, I go back January 9th.
I'm going to enjoy the time off since starting in January, I will have placement twice a week plus 4 classes. Hello, no days off. ::Insert crying here:: 


I finally painted my nails Meep, Meep, Meep by OPI on Thursday.

I'm totally having a tattoo fever again! #Vague

I have found my new stress relief. Running. I downloaded couch to 5k about a month a go and seriously love it so much. I'm on week 7, day 2 out of 9, I plan to get the couch to 10k and train for a 10k race which I'll do in the spring. I've been running about 3x a week for 30 minutes! Hopefully this will help me get to my goal weight for the wedding sooner :)

I got a few of them last week. I got Wocka-Wocka, Pepe's Purple Passion, Warm and Fozzie and Meep-Meep-Meep. I've only worn Wocka-Wocka and Pepe's Purple Passion and can't wait to try the other two!

Right now, I am loving Wocka-Wocka! You'll see why :)

 When the light hits it, it is totally sparkly and shimmery red. I can see anybody wearing it on New Years Eve! I am in love <3
